When the alarm goes off in the morning, it is much easier to groan about being tired and move like a zombie as you get up and get ready for work. It is much harder to be happy and positive, but that is precisely what you need to do. As a life coach dedicated to building positive life strategies with her clients, Connie Jordan of Las Vegas stresses how crucial it is to start your day with the appropriate mindset and outlook. When you can start your day with a positive mindset, it has a positive impact on the rest of your day. This allows you to get more energy, maintain your motivation, and feel inspired to live the best life you can live.
Below, Connie Jordan of Las Vegas shares specific ways to switch up your morning routine to be more positive and have an uplifting attitude.
Immediately Shift Your Mindset
When you first open your eyes, it can be tough to get out of bed to go to a place that you’re not the biggest fan of, but a lot of that can be changed by adjusting the things that you’re focusing on. By making a shift in your mindset, your job can become a means of providing for your life and family instead of an oppressive force. Take the time to look at what you’re creating or sustaining by getting up, and it’ll get easier with practice.
Be happy to be awake, happy to be alive. Shift your mindset to being positive about the morning and the day ahead.
Show Appreciation and Gratitude
Another thing that can help push the shift in mindset further is the habit off expressing gratitude. Giving thanks, and focusing on how grateful you are to be in a place when you are physically able to go to work can help you to keep things in perspective. Even just the simple act of being thankful can give you a more positive feeling during the times you’re thinking about them.
Start writing in a journal in the morning for this very reason. Write down what you are grateful for, whether it is to have your job, your home, a loving family, excitement over a coffee date with a friend, or your health. There are many things to be grateful for, and by acknowledging them, you are increasing your positivity in the morning.
Set Your Intentions
Have you noticed that when you don’t have a focused plan, it can be tough to get things organized? Taking the time to set your intentions helps you to give priority and order to the things that you have to consider for the day. Instead of entirely random selections, you can make an organized, cohesive plan that will put you on the right path and keep you there.
When you have good intentions, you feel good about yourself, and that can instantly transform your attitude into a more positive one.
Nourish Your Body
Without proper nutrition, your physical health and mental health can be affected. You must always make sure that you have enough time to get some nourishment before you begin your day. That will help you to keep your focus and stay at an adequate energy level. When people get tired, they often turn to artificially enhanced drinks that aren’t very good for your health and heart. At the very least, you can be sure to get up early enough to blend some frozen fruit so you can drink your breakfast on the way to work.
Starting your day with a positive mind and positive attitude, you are telling yourself that you want to have a fulfilling life, which is often all you need to truly have one.
