Many Applications has also Introduce by Unique Identification Authority of India to make Merchant Payment Easy and Fast. But there is also one Major Question that Is aadhar Mandatory for all the Government Scheme or not? So, in this Post we will clarify the doubt regarding aahdar enable schemes.
The legislature is holding fast to Supreme Court’s request and subsequently Aadhar Card won’t be a compulsory condition for natives to profit advantages and sponsorships. IS AADHAR CARD MANDATORY FOR AVAILING SUBSIDY AND BENEFITS?
The government had introduced the e aadhar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Bill 2016, in Parliament on March 3, 2016. And the Parliament passed it on March 16, 2016.
The President gave the assent to the Bill on March 25, 2016. On March 26, 2016, it published in the Official Gazette as Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016.
However, according to Section 7 of the Aadhar Act, in the absence of Aadhar, one can produce and valid ID proof. This “Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act provides that if an Aadhaar number is not assigned to an individual, the individual shall be offered alternate and viable means of identification for delivery of the subsidy, benefit or service,”
– Minister of State for IT and Electronics P P Chaudhary informed the Lok Sabha.
However there are certain schemes for which Aadhar is mandatory and the same was also confirmed by the Supreme Court’s ruling. Here is a List of Government Scheme which requires aadhar card to get benefits.
LIST OF AADHAR CARD MANDATORY SCHEMES:
The apex court directed the government that Aadhar card will not be used for any purpose other than some schemes. These schemes are:
- PDS scheme
- Kerosene and LPG subsidy
- MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act)
- National Social Assistance Programme pensions
- PMJDY (Pradhan Mantri Jhan Dhan Yojhna)
Till the court finally decides the matter, making Aadhar Card Mandatory will not be possible and no person will be denied benefits under any Government scheme for want of Aadhar card.
The court had made it clear that no one can discriminate between a person who has Aadhar card and one who does not. Therefore, individuals without Aadhar number can offer alternate means of identification, passport, voter id card, driving licence, etc. to avail the government subsidies, benefits and services.
