Importance of typing faster and accurately

In today’s world many professions are based on the use of the computer. If you are a lawyer, work at a switchboard, are a programmer or a writer, you have touse a computer. Whether it’s a laptop or desktop, it has a keyboard – the best device for inserting text invented so far. If you spend a significant amount of time in front of it, you should be able to type without looking at your keyboard. But why? It takes some time to learn to type. Effort is needed and you will write very slowly at first if you don’t use any technique. We try to explain why it is important to learn typing.

As you improve your typing skills, you will enjoy the benefits it brings you.

If you only spend 3 hours a day typing and double your typing speed, you can save, say 1 hour a day – this will be 250 hours of work per year; This will give you 31 full days a year.

Instead of constantly looking at the keys before one of them is pressed, you focus on the text that you type. Your muscles are programmed to write correctly, so there is no need to think about the mechanics of typing.

If you don’t use all your fingers to type, or worse, you use only a few fingers to press the keys, that’s a terrible waste of time. Changing the view from the keyboard to the monitor and vice versa is more time consuming than pressing a key. If you type this way, you must first focus on your hand, then on the keyboard, then on the monitor, and find where the text ends. A lot of energy is lost. His sight is focused only on what he visualizes all the time so that his head does not move. Your hands will not tensed, and your fingers move in a natural way.

Typing forces, a correct position of the spine. You don’t lean over looking at the keyboard. Your view is directed at the monitor – ahead, so the neck is not folded down. By keeping your hands better aligned, you shouldn’t be leaning toward the keyboard, so your entire body struggles to position itself in the most optimal way for fast typing.

Typing improves typing accuracy. It seems like if you don’t think about how you type, then you may make mistakes, but your muscles are programmed to type correctly. Therefore, it is so important to focus on accuracy during early learning, rather than typing speed. Try to write with 100% accuracy. Correct your mistakes, then over time, you will type much faster.

Note: Do a Typing speed test to know your current ability.

Typing leads to a reduction in the amount of time spent on a given task that requires typing on your keyboard. You can do more work because you have more time.

Typing allows you to quickly correct mistakes you make in writing. Mistakes made when typing with two fingers are more difficult to see, since people who are typing and looking at the keyboard when writing some text, do not realize their errors. Typing focuses your attention on what’s already been written, so you can immediately see where the mistake was made.

Speedy typing relies on our mind effortlessly. This is like cycling or driving a car. You are not focused on the driving mechanism, you are not looking at the gear shift or the steering wheel, you are not thinking about the degrees of turn of the steering wheel at the same time. Everything is happening automatically, just like typing, you don’t wonder where the key is. Your muscles know it. This is the so-called muscle memory, which memorizes the correct movements of the hands and fingers.

Typing is something you can brag about when presenting your CV. This is a skill that is respected by others. Even good typing professionals are valued. Unfortunately, a skill that fades a bit. Now many people use two thumbs to type on the keyboards of their smartphones, and when they reach the keyboard, they press with two fingers – which is not a good thing.

If you consider yourself a professional in a particular field but are sitting typing with two fingers on your keyboard, your professionalism may raise questions. If you have spent so much time studying your own subject, and didn’t bother learning to type, something is wrong here! This can elevate mixed feelings in others, but subconsciously your self-evaluation falls. Writing faster and more correctly increases your self-esteem and this should not be overestimated.

There is no doubt about it. The only obstacle is the cost of time and effort it takes to learn to type properly.
