One example are Cancún parks, they are really a must visit if you’re going on vacation to that city.

Our recommendation is that you spend some days going to the beach, laying down on the sand (always wearing sunscreen!), and that afterwards you take your time to go visit some, or at least one, of Cancún parks. The list of things to do is very long and deciding what to do in the time you have for doing it, can be a little bit difficult. That is why we are going to help you out a bit, by writing down a little review . This time we chose Xcaret, keep on reading!

What can I expect from a visit to Cancún parks?

Whether you chose to take a bus or rent a car to get there, or you decide to stay inside of them (yes, you can find a hotel inside!), you will be able to see amazing views while traveling to the park you chose. In this case, you will arrive to Xcaret and will get to the Main Plaza. This is your welcome to the park, where you can get ready for the busy and entertaining day that awaits. Oh! Lets not forget about the secret world that lays underneath it… a wine cellar with tasty Mexican wines!

Something remarkable about this place, is that they are always looking after the visitors’ safety. This is the reason why you will find lifeguards along water attractions, and you will be delivered life vests before entering those attractions. With this said, let’s move on! If you enjoy acuatic activities we want to let you know that inside Xcaret you will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to immerse into underground rivers, that run at 16.4ft below the ground and have an extension of 656 yards, and see tunnels and caves. If you are adventurous you have the chance to do this swimming, but if you prefer not to get wet, you can choose to sail on a raft. It’s your choice!

If you’re visiting Xcaret with children, you can be sure that they will also have the time of their lives! There is a place called Children’s World, where the little ones will spend hours of fun running through the water slides, running through the tunnels and the hanging bridges. You will also find activities for kids under 6 years old, where they will be able to use a wading pool, a sandbox and water jets. There is fun awaiting for everyone, it doesn’t matter if you are 6, 12, 20, or 60 years old.

What about historical places and everything else?

The Mayan Riviera and Cancún itself are well known for its places full of Historical value. Xcaret isn’t the exception… the place where the park lies, has more than a thousand years of history.  A Mayan community dedicated to maritime trade settled in this area many years ago. This ruins are distributed all along the park, so you can discover and be amazed by them.

A cemetery with the shape of a spiral shell and full of color… can you even imagine that? Well, don’t worry, while in this Cancun park, you will actually see it. Yes, there is an ancient cemetery, that has seven levels that symbolize the seven days of the week. It also has 52 steps, representing the weeks in a year and 365 tombs…  yes, your guess was correct! Those are a representation of the days of the year. Discover all of this and how it connects with the Day of the Dead tradition.
